Watch ‘Celebrating Life & Science’ now to kick off Bioscience Week

Login now to watch “Celebrate life and science”, a special hour-long broadcast event highlighting inspiring stories of Arizonans working together and using science to improve the lives of people everywhere. The event kicks off Arizona Bioscience Week.

“Arizona Bioscience Week is a celebration that brings our community together and raises awareness of the inspiring work done every day by Arizona researchers, innovators and healthcare professionals,” said Joan Koerber-Walker, president and CEO of the Arizona Bioindustry Association, Inc. (AZBio).

Arizona Bioscience Week shows how the people of Arizona are advancing life-changing, life-saving innovations along the path from discovery to development and delivery.

“Bringing these stories to television allows us to share our thanks with everyone across the state who supports this important work,” says Koerber-Walker.

Celebrating Life & Science will introduce viewers to some of Arizona’s top healthcare and innovation leaders, including:

• AZBio Pioneer Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Gholam Peyman, MD, inventor of LASIK eye surgery;

• Mark A. Slater, PhD, of the HonorHealth Research and Innovation Institute, winner of the Arizona Bioscience Leader of the Year award;

• Arizona Bioscience Researcher of the Year, Janko Nikolich-Žugich, MD, PhD, University of Arizona;

• Arizona Bioscience Educator of the Year, Thomas Schumann of the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation at GateWay Community College; and

• Recipient of the 2021 AZBio Public Service Award, the Honorable Kate Brophy McGee.

Designed in the popular format of a news magazine, the Celebrating Life and Science segments give viewers insight into the life-changing work of Arizona research centers and how businesses in the Arizona is turning research into products and services that keep us healthy and protect us.

The company’s signature segments will include Arizona Bioscience Company of the Year, BioLab Sciences, as well as Fast Lane winners Botanisol Analytics, Humabilogics, Inc. and PathogenDx.

Arizona executives will also share their views in special appearances, recognizing the efforts of more than 300,000 life sciences and health workers across the state.
