Eileen Veilleux’s Newly Released ‘Heart Sight’ Is a Gripping Account of One Woman’s Journey to Educating Others About Mental Health Issues | News

MEADVILLE, Pa., March 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — ‘Heart Sight’: A powerful reminder of the importance of appreciating each of God’s children. “Heart Sight” is the creation of a published author Eileen Veilleux, a legally blind mother of five children. Veilleux likes to help others see with their hearts and not with their eyes. She also has a YouTube channel that she dedicates to educating people about different mental health issues and teaching different strategies and techniques to help manage stress, anxiety, and loneliness.

Veilleux shares, “Growing up visually impaired from an early age was difficult and taxing in every way, physically, mentally and emotionally. There were many obstacles that I had to overcome and endure, but through it all it taught me to see with my heart and not my eyes.

“Let’s say you go to the store to buy some peanuts. You take them home to eat…Now just by looking at the shell, you can’t tell if the peanuts inside are rotten or not. You actually have to break the shell to open it. See if the peanuts are rotten or not. See with your heart and not with your eyes, it’s the same thing. You have to look inside a person. to see their heart, because you can’t tell how a person is just by looking from the outside. Appearance can be deceiving. It can’t tell you if the person has a mental illness or if they have a good heart or no.

“I went to see Christopher and Nickolas in NH for two weeks. The visit with them went well until one evening we were all sitting at the table talking and their cousin made a statement which really moved me. She said: “If you knew that your children had a chance to be like that [meaning mentally handicapped], why did you have children?’ Now what has been said about my sons is why I decided to start a YouTube channel (Eileen Veilleux The Fam) about educating people about different mental health issues and teaching different strategies and techniques to help cope with stress, anxiety and loneliness. If I help a person to see with their heart and not with their eyes or if I help a person who suffers from anxiety, stress or depression, then I achieve my goal.”
