VIJAYAWADA: “Any country that has progressed in prosperity invariably depends on science and technology,” Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan said at the 88th Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc) and the inauguration of the ISRO exhibition at SRM Amaravati University on Thursday.

“Science and technology are synonymous with innovation, discovery and research. The world today looks to India with admiration and hopes that we will help solve the global problems that plague humanity. Our research must be excellent in all disciplines ranging from the basic sciences, engineering to the humanities,” the governor said.

“England has become a world power; it was because of the industrial revolution. The United States has become a superpower mainly because of its technology, whether in transportation, agriculture, high-tech industry, medicine, etc. ”, he asserted. on recent scientific advances.

The public lectures had renowned columnist Mr. Palagummi Sainath and Dr. Ananya Vajpeyi from the Center for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi as prominent guest speakers.
