Anthony Ogogo AEW career put on hold after tenth eye surgery

AEW star Anthony Ogogo is a man who struggles with borrowed time. The former Olympic boxer has not hidden that he is struggling with his left eye. After years of damage in the boxing ring, his career was cut short before he really had a chance in the pro ranks.

Now, sadly, it looks like his wrestling career could be on the ropes as well. The news has just been confirmed that Anthony Ogogo is on the injured list after undergoing his tenth eye operation.

However, despite the risk of the operation and the fact that Ogogo was already registered as blind in this eye, he refused to let it stop him. Staying in his character until the operating room, he cut a promo that many wrestlers would love to offer.

“Billy Gunn, you’re so lucky I’m not in America right now.” Because I would tear you apart limb by limb. I would break every bone in your face and make your life not worth living.

“You have no idea how much pain I am in right now, but you will. I promise, Billy Gunn, you will. I will make your life a living misery. I’m gonna hurt you, Billy. There is no pain like seeing your kids being punished and sprayed in front of your face. There is nothing you can do about it. So Billy Gunn, be lucky I’m not here right now. Make the most of the time you have left with your boys because when I get back soon that time is running out. Anthony Ogogo said, making it clear that he has a lot of things outstanding in AEW.

“I’m Anthony Ogogo, AEW’s Guv’nor, and I’m the toughest jerk you’ve ever seen.”

Major surgery won’t slow down Anthony Ogogo

The operation is not a straightforward procedure for Ogogo, and it remains to be seen whether he will be allowed to wrestle again. Speaking of the extent of the work he needed, Ogogo explained. This is the 10th eye operation because I have so much scar tissue around my socket. They must have gone through my nasal cavity, correcting my septum, which was deflected when you smashed my face against the steel barricade. They had to fix the orbit and the medial section, and the orbital fault, through my nose.

Ogogo lacks experience in the wrestling ring but was recently replaced by Cody Rhodes, trained at his Nightmare Factory before making his debut, and is now locked in a feud with Hall of Famer Billy Gunn.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see Anthony ‘the Guv’nor’ Ogogo back in an AEW ring.
